DOI: https://doi.org/In recent years, the Arequipa region has experienced a notable increase in air pollution caused by carbon monoxide (CO), primarily due to harmful human activities and forest fires. CO poses serious risks to both human health and the environment, as it is linked to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as strokes. Due to the limited availability of air quality monitoring stations in the area, this study utilized Sentinel-5P satellite imagery and the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform to assess CO concentrations across the districts of the Arequipa province. The analysis covers the period from 2019 to 2023, offering valuable insights that can inform the development of effective air pollution mitigation strategies in the region.
