DOI: https://doi.org/Quality of water is most common term which refers to a general explication about various properties ofa water body. Lakes that have a highwater quality possess properties that make it a high valued resource many creature and nature. The present limnological work is an attempt to evaluate the seasonal variation in the physico chemical parameters of the Chennabasava Pattadevaru Lake, Bhalki, Bidar. Present work was also aimed to determine suitability of the water for human consumption and other domesticuses. During the study every month water samples were collected from various sampling sites oflake during the period of January 2023 to December 2023. Analysis of samples was carried out to study physico-chemical parameters such as temperature, pH, potassium, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, alkalinity, chloride, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), nitrate and phosphate. Results of the present investigation when compared with the standard values prescribed by Bureau of Indian Standards(BIS) and World Health Organization (WHO) revealed that all the values of physicochemical parameters of present study area within the permissible limit.
