Choristomas are similar, except they are comprised of tissues that would not typically be found at the anatomic site at which the lesion is arising. A variety of hamartomas and choristomas can occur in skin and soft tissue and be challenging to diagnose. Rhambdomyomatous mesenchymal hamartomas (RMH) or striated muscle hamartomas (SMH) are an unusual, benign, congenital or acquired neoplasms affecting mainly children, most of the times in the head and neck region. They are anormal dermal and subcutis aggregates of disorderly striped muscle rays teamed with regular mesenchymal elements. Management is typically surgical excision, with rare descriptions of recurrence.
